About Rancho Sisquoc Winery
Rancho Sisquoc Winery is named for the historic land grant rancho — Sisquoc (from the Chumash Indigenous word for 'quail gathering place,' the meeting spot where quail flocks congregate) applied to a Spanish colonial-era rancho that became one of Santa Barbara County's earliest modern wine estates when the Flood family planted vineyards in 1972. The Foxen Canyon Road estate occupies land that has been continuously farmed under the Sisquoc name since the rancho era, one of the Central Coast's most historically continuous estate agricultural properties.
