About Greater Sacramento Wine Country

Greater Sacramento pours its wine where its people already are: in Midtown storefronts, on Old Sacramento's brick waterfront, and along the farm roads of Elk Grove, Sloughhouse and Galt. The region's oldest name, Frasinetti, has carried South Sacramento wine since 1897, and its newest, Flatland's 2024 brewer-launched label, shows the scene still growing.

The map organizes into three easy chapters. Downtown, Revolution makes wine beside a full Midtown kitchen, Acheson pours eco-focused wine from taps seven days a week, and Baker Family Wines shares a West Sacramento venue with Bike Dog Brewing; in Old Sacramento, Felicita's Lodi lounge and Heringer Estates' Parliament pour a block apart on the boardwalk. South and east, Elk Grove's Grant Line district strings Adkins, Vannatta and Christopher Cellars into weekend-evening loops, McConnell Estates hosts on its six-generation family homestead, South Slope adds a bistro, and event estates like 129-acre Lamoure open by calendar. Galt finishes the run with Valensin's estate evenings and Barsetti's Old Town room, while Sloughhouse Wines pours from the family home strictly by appointment.

It is California's most underrated urban-to-farm wine day: start at a Midtown tap, end on a Grant Line patio, and never drive more than half an hour. For the Delta estates just south, see our separate Clarksburg guide.
