About Metro Boston & Central MA
Metro Boston and central Massachusetts offer a different wine experience than the coast or the Berkshires; urban tasting rooms, suburban farm wineries, and Connecticut River Valley estates that feed the city's enormous appetite for local food and drink.
Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton is the region's anchor: a multi-beverage farm operation producing wines, spirits, and ciders since 1978 with a full restaurant on site. Boston Winery and City Winery bring production into the city itself, while Mill River, Mineral Hills, and Turtle Creek operate from suburban and small-town settings.
The Connecticut River Valley through central Massachusetts adds agricultural depth. Pioneer Valley Vineyard and other producers grow grapes and orchard fruits in the valley's protected microclimate. For Boston residents, this is accessible wine country, most producers are within an hour's drive, and the urban tasting rooms require no car at all.
