Nebraska Wine Trail

Nebraska's wine trail connects nearly 50 family wineries across an 800-mile route from the Missouri River bluffs in the east to the Sandhills in the west. The most concentrated wine tourism is in the eastern corridor between Omaha and Lincoln, where loess-deposited soils along the Missouri River bluffs provide mineral-rich, well-draining terrain for cold-hardy hybrid grapes. Marquette, Frontenac, La Crescent, and Brianna from the University of Minnesota breeding program are the dominant varieties. Glacial Till Winery in Plattsmouth, James Arthur Vineyards near Lincoln, and Soaring Wings Vineyard near Springfield are the most established producers. Nebraska wine tourism is genuine but modest, offering very low prices and warm hospitality on working farms.
