The Seacoast region of southern New Hampshire is the state's most developed wine destination, with over a dozen wineries and cideries concentrated within an hour of Portsmouth. The mild maritime influence from the Atlantic moderates temperatures slightly compared to interior New Hampshire, and the region's sandy, glacially-deposited soils drain well.
