About Renwood Winery
Renwood Winery takes its name from a portmanteau of founding-era names — Ren and Wood combined to create a compound name that sounds like an English woodland estate. The invented compound carries both the warmth of a personal name and the nature-connection of a place name, making it among the more interesting naming solutions in Sierra Foothills wine.
The Steiner Road estate is one of Amador County's most nationally distributed Zinfandel brands — a daily walk-in destination that has introduced thousands of California wine tourists to old-vine Sierra Foothills Zinfandel. The estate produces Barbera, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Syrah from Amador County estate and purchased Shenandoah Valley vineyard sources at accessible everyday pricing.
Wine Spectator has scored Renwood's Amador County Zinfandel and Barbera at 87–90 points.
