Shinn Estate Farmhouse is a certified sustainable winery and bed-and-breakfast on the North Fork of Long Island, founded by David Page and Barbara Shinn with a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic farming. The 22-acre estate on Oregon Road in Mattituck is farmed without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, and the vineyard supports a thriving ecosystem of cover crops, native plantings, and beneficial insects. The wines, including Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and a celebrated Coalescence blend, are made with native yeasts and minimal intervention.
The farmhouse offers overnight stays among the vines, making Shinn one of only a few North Fork wineries where guests can wake up in the vineyard. Tastings are intimate and educational, often led by the owners themselves, and the property hosts farm dinners, harvest events, and workshops.
