About Simi Winery

Simi Winery is one of the most storied names in Sonoma County wine. Founded in 1876 by Italian immigrants Giuseppe and Pietro Simi, the winery survived Prohibition by sealing their wine in a giant 25,000-gallon tank and selling it after repeal, a legendary act of resilience that became winery lore.

The beautiful stone cellar building on Healdsburg Avenue, flanked by towering redwood trees, is one of the most distinctive winery landmarks in Sonoma County. The historic stone cellars underground date to the original 19th-century construction.

Simi's winemaking legacy includes a remarkable chapter of female leadership, Zelma Long served as head winemaker from 1979 to 1990, pioneering modern California winemaking techniques that influenced an entire generation of winemakers. Today Simi produces wines across Sonoma County and Alexander Valley that honor the 140+ year tradition of welcoming hospitality the Simi name has always represented.

At its Healdsburg location, Simi Winery presents a featured lineup that includes Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County Chardonnay, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, and Reserve Chardonnay. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.

"Sonoma's welcoming historic winery since 1876. Redwood trees, historic stone cellars, Chardonnay that defined a generation, and 140+ years of producin"
