About Tara Bella Winery
Tara Bella Winery is a tiny, family-owned estate off Olivet Road in the rolling hills of the Russian River Valley, near Santa Rosa, with an unusual devotion: it makes only Cabernet Sauvignon. In a region celebrated for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Tara Bella saw the potential to grow exceptional Cabernet, and it farms just six estate acres, three of Clone 4 planted in 1997 and three of Clone 7 added in 2005, right in its own backyard.
Owners Kevin and Wendy Morrow, who took over the estate in 2010, do nearly everything themselves alongside their son, in the belief that great wine is made in the vineyard. Production is minuscule, only around 200 to 500 cases a year, each bottle wax-sealed and individually numbered, and the 100% Cabernet has collected some fifteen gold medals.
You won't find these wines in stores or restaurants; they're sold exclusively through the winery and its wine-club family. Visits are by appointment only and deeply personal, a private, owner-hosted tasting and tour where guests, as regulars attest, tend to leave as friends.
