About The Calling

The Calling is a Sonoma-focused wine label founded in 2012 by a pair of friends: famed CBS sports broadcaster Jim Nantz and Peter Deutsch, CEO of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits. The two met by chance in 2009 and bonded over a shared dream, creating the brand as a heartfelt tribute to their fathers and to the idea of following one's true calling.

Based in Healdsburg, The Calling crafts premium, classically styled Sonoma wines, elegant Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from some of the region's most iconic vineyards and family growers across appellations like the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Alexander Valley. Winemaking is led by James MacPhail, one of California's most decorated winemakers, whose deft hand has earned The Calling dozens of 90-plus ratings since its very first vintage, including standout Chardonnay from the celebrated Dutton Ranch.

The wines aim for effortless, food-friendly enjoyment with friends, and a Healdsburg tasting experience lets visitors explore the range.
