About Theopolis Vineyards
Theodora Lee, a trial lawyer known as Theo-patra, Queen of the Vineyards, planted her Yorkville Highlands hillside in 2003 and became one of California's few Black women estate owners and growers, earning acclaim for her Petite Sirah, the estate's steep-slope signature, along with Pinot Noir and a cult rose.
Lee's fruit drew top winemakers before she launched her own label, and her story became a beacon for the industry's overdue diversification. A queen's vineyard, properly crowned.
