About Three Sticks Wines

Three Sticks Wines is one of California's most critically acclaimed and philosophically grounded estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers. Bill Price — a Silicon Valley entrepreneur who purchased the legendary Durell Vineyard in 2011 and has since built one of Sonoma County's most deliberately assembled vineyard portfolios — established Three Sticks with a central conviction: all great wine begins in the vineyard, and the company that owns, farms, and produces from its own vineyards has an irreplaceable advantage in expressing what California terroir can achieve.

Director of Winemaking Bob Cabral — who built Williams Selyem's reputation for 100-point Pinot Noir during his 17-year tenure there — brings the same precision and site sensitivity to Three Sticks's vineyard portfolio. Durell (610 acres spanning Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Carneros), Gap's Crown (406 Sonoma Coast acres consistently producing wines of distinction), and Walala (on the coastal ridge above Gualala) are each recognized among California's finest vineyard sites.

The tasting experience takes place in the Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe — a lovingly restored 1842 landmark steps from Sonoma Plaza, designed by renowned San Francisco interior designer Ken Fulk. The combination of extraordinary terroir, world-class winemaking, and one of Sonoma's most beautiful historical spaces makes Three Sticks genuinely among the finest winery experiences available in California wine country.

Chardonnay
Durell Vineyard Chardonnay
Sonoma Valley / Sonoma Coast
Bob Cabral's Three Sticks Chardonnay from Durell's most expressive white wine blocks — showing the mineral complexity and food-friendly depth that the vineyard's volcanic soils and multiple-AVA character produces in California's most celebrated white grape.

Walala Vineyard Pinot Noir
Extreme Sonoma Coast / Gualala
Three Sticks's most extreme coastal expression — from Walala Vineyard on the ridge above Gualala where the Pacific proximity produces Pinot Noir of haunting salinity and mineral depth unlike anything from Durell or Gap's Crown.
