Lodi
Lodi is California's old-vine Zinfandel heartland โ a warm, windswept delta region where 100+ year old head-trained vines produce some of America's most authentic and age-worthy Zinfandel.
About Lodi
Lodi sits in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, warmed by the Central Valley heat but cooled each afternoon by delta breezes off the San Francisco Bay. This unique thermal pattern, combined with ancient sandy loam soils, creates perfect conditions for old-vine Zinfandel.
Lodi's wine history stretches back to the 1850s when Italian and German immigrants planted Zinfandel on the well-drained benchlands. Today, many of those original vines โ gnarled, dry-farmed, and over 100 years old โ still produce intensely concentrated fruit.
The Lodi AVA encompasses 26 sub-appellations and is home to over 85 wineries, many of them family-run estates that have farmed the same land for four and five generations.
