About Treana Winery
Treana Winery is named for a word derived from Welsh treana, meaning harmony — the philosophical foundation of Hope Family Wines' flagship label. Founded in 1995 by Austin Hope's family before the Austin Hope brand was established, Treana is the Paso Robles estate's original expression: a Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot red blend and a Marsanne-Roussanne white blend produced in harmony with each other and with the estate's Templeton Gap terroir.
The Templeton Gap corridor channels cold Pacific marine air directly into the vineyards each afternoon, creating temperature swings that preserve natural acidity in both the white and red blends. The Marsanne-Roussanne white — an unusual combination in California — demonstrates that Rhône white varieties thrive in the maritime-influenced west-side Paso Robles climate with uncommon success.
Wine Spectator has scored Treana's red and white blends at 90–93 points for multiple consecutive vintages.
