About Tres Suenos Vineyards & Winery
Tres Suenos Vineyards & Winery sits on old Christmas tree farm ground at 19691 E Charter Oak Rd, north of Luther, Oklahoma, in Logan County. Richard Kennedy established the vineyard in 1999 with two partners who later went off to open wineries of their own, leaving him as the sole remaining founder; mature pines from the tree-farm days still shade the property. Five acres are planted and production has run to roughly a thousand gallons a year. In the winter of 2019 Tammy Blevins and her family took over operations, renovating the place while keeping the wines and the event business going.
The list has been deliberately split between sweet and dry. The sweet side carries Oklahoma Select White, Noble Red, Anniversary Red and Fiesta Blanca, and Kennedy pointed to several award winners among them; the dry side has included Charter Oak Red and Chardonnay, with Riesling, Cabernet, Merlot and the native Cynthiana grape also in the range. Tastings were free and ran Thursday to Saturday in the middle of the day. Beyond the tasting room the property has held weddings and events, a three-room vineyard suite with a kitchen and jacuzzi tubs, and an annual fall wine festival with live music.
Check before you go, because the present is unclear. TripAdvisor carries the listing as reported permanently closed, its most recent visitor review dates to May 2019, and Yelp now files the address under venues and event spaces rather than wineries, which together suggest the winery side may no longer keep public tasting hours even if the venue does. Luther sits about half an hour northeast of Oklahoma City, an easy detour off the Turner Turnpike corridor. Contact the property directly to confirm whether it is open, and what hours and tasting arrangements apply, before you drive out.
