About Turley Wine Cellars Amador
Turley Wine Cellars is Larry Turley's personal label — his English-heritage surname on California's most nationally recognized old-vine Zinfandel program. While Turley's home base is Napa Valley, the estate sources Zinfandel from old-vine Amador County Shenandoah Valley heritage blocks — some of the oldest continuously farmed Zinfandel vineyard terrain in California.
The Amador County sourcing is central to Turley's identity as California's premier Zinfandel advocate: the Shenandoah Valley's pre-Prohibition and early-twentieth-century Zinfandel plantings produce fruit of the vine age and concentrated character that Turley's winemaking philosophy — minimum intervention, maximum site expression — is designed to reveal.
Wine Advocate has scored Turley's old-vine Amador County Zinfandels at 91–96 points, placing the English-surname winemaker's label among California's most consistently acclaimed Zinfandel producers.
