About Turley Wine Cellars
Turley Wine Cellars is California's most comprehensively dedicated old-vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah institution. Larry Turley — co-founder of Frog's Leap Winery who established his own label in 1993 — has built the most extensive single-vineyard old-vine Zinfandel program in the United States: over 50 single-vineyard releases annually from heritage vineyard sites spanning California from Lodi and Contra Costa County to Napa Valley and Sonoma County.
The philosophy is unwavering: identify California's most historically significant old-vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah sites — vineyards planted between 1880 and 1940 on original rootstock that survived phylloxera through sandy or rocky soils — and produce site-specific wines from each that document the genuine individual character of that specific piece of California heritage farmland. The Dusi Ranch in Paso Robles, the Pesenti Vineyard, the Kirschenmann in Lodi — each Turley single-vineyard wine is a historical document as much as a wine.
The Healdsburg Dry Creek Road tasting room provides appointment access to the Northern California portion of the Turley program — including Sonoma County old-vine sources — alongside the broader California portfolio. Most wines are allocated through the mailing list, making the tasting room one of the most direct ways to experience the full depth of what Turley has identified and preserved across California's most historically significant old-vine heritage.
