Valiant holds South Dakota's first bond: Eldon Nygaard's Vermillion operation, licensed as the state's first modern winery, grew into a winery, distillery and inn above the Missouri bluffs, founding-statute legacy, the professor-founder literally helped write the farm winery law, making the Main Street estate the state's constitutional cellar.
