About Valley Trails Winery
Valley Trails Winery is a family-owned farm winery tucked about five miles south of Westmoreland on Flush Road, in the rolling country of northeast Kansas. Owned by Dennis and Lou Ann Fike, both Kansas natives with deep farming roots, it opened its tasting room in 2025 after two years in the 456 Wineries incubator program in Wamego.
The Fikes returned home to Kansas after spending the last years of their careers in New Mexico, planted their vineyard in the spring of 2020, and deepened their craft through viticulture and enology courses at Highland Community College. They focus on six unique wines made entirely from Kansas-grown grapes, a nod to the state's rich but often-overlooked winemaking history. Open every weekend, the winery invites guests to bring their own food, enjoy the local wines, and soak in a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere, all captured in the family motto, our glass is always half full.
Hours, tasting fees, and reservation policies change with the season, so it is worth checking the winery's website or calling ahead before you visit, especially on weekends. The details on this profile may have shifted since publication, and the producer is always the most authoritative source.
Our glass is always half full.

Wines change with each vintage
Valley Trails focuses on six unique wines made entirely from Kansas-grown grapes, honoring the state's long but little-known grape-growing tradition. The vineyard was planted in 2020 and the estate lineup reflects the owners' hands-on farming approach. Selections rotate.
