About VineHeart Winery

VineHeart Winery sits on a family estate a few miles north of Prosser, in the heart of Washington's Yakima Valley, where the land has been in viticulturist Patricia O'Brien's family since 1950. She and her husband, George Schneider, both grew up in Prosser and are deeply rooted here, tending a 130-acre farm of grapes, apples, and cherries that rises gently to about 1,200 feet, with views of the Horse Heaven Hills below and the Rattlesnake Hills above.

The winery is a genuine two-person labor of love. Patricia, mentored in her early years by Washington wine legends Dr. Walter Clore, the 'Father of Washington Wine,' and George Carter, planted the estate vineyard in 1992 and began selling fruit to wineries around the country. Her husband, a longtime home winemaker and custom-home builder, turned commercial in 2002, and the division of labor stuck: she grows the grapes, he makes the wine. Patricia farms 15 varieties, among them Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and her personal favorite, Lemberger.

The results are smooth, soft, and approachable, fruit-first wines that reward an unhurried visit. You'll know you've arrived when you spot the near life-sized statue of a grape-bearing goddess at the entrance, and the eclectic, homey tasting room, full of arts, crafts, and wine-themed decor, invites lingering.

Smooth, approachable estate wines from a grow-it-and-make-it husband-and-wife team near Prosser.
