About Vista Creek Cellars
Vista Creek Cellars is named for the two topographic features that define the Union Road property — the creek that runs through the El Pomar District estate, and the vista, the view that opens from the vineyard over the rolling Paso Robles landscape. The Spanish-English hybrid naming (vista is Spanish for 'view'; creek is English for the water course) reflects the California linguistic tradition of mixing the two languages of the state's heritage.
The estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel from calcareous east-side Paso Robles soils at accessible walk-in pricing, with the generous, sun-warmed character that El Pomar District limestone soils and long growing seasons produce. The creek provides natural drainage and some cooling influence; the vista provides the aesthetic that makes the estate's wine tourism experience as pleasant as the wines themselves.
The daily walk-in tasting room is dog-friendly, picnic-welcoming, and family-hospitable.
