Windmill Wine Estate takes its name from the windmill — the iconic structure of Dutch heritage (reflecting the San Joaquin Delta's Dutch immigrant farming community) and California agricultural landscape, where windmills historically pumped water from the Delta's drainage system. The Lodi Delta's windmill heritage connects directly to the Dutch farming families who settled the region and whose engineering transformed the Delta tule marshes into productive farmland. The East Harney Lane estate produces old-vine Zinfandel and Chardonnay from Lodi AVA estate vineyard sources.
