About Wolffer Estate
Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack is the South Fork’s defining winery and perhaps the Hamptons’ most recognizable wine destination: a Provencal chateau-styled estate where sweeping vineyard views come with one of Long Island’s busiest, buzziest tasting scenes. It is one of only three wineries on the South Fork, a short drive from Bridgehampton and the ocean beaches.
The estate’s calling card is Summer in a Bottle, the dry rose that helped popularize the southern French style in America and now runs to a reported 125,000 cases a year across two cuvees - one grown on Long Island, one in the Cotes de Provence - joined by a Summer in a Bottle Sauvignon Blanc and a non-alcoholic Spring in a Bottle range.
Behind the lifestyle branding sits serious winemaking. German-born winemaker and business partner Roman Roth has logged more than three decades of vintages here, producing a portfolio that spans roughly $16 to $125 a bottle, plus his own Grapes of Roth private label. Taste at the estate with small plates, or stop at the more casual Wolffer Wine Stand just around the corner on Montauk Highway.
