Yorkville Cellars — Yorkville Highlands Winery & Tasting Room

Yorkville Cellars is named for the village — Yorkville, the small Mendocino County Highway 128 community whose English-heritage name carries both the York (the ancient Roman and Viking city of Eoforwic) and the -ville (French for village, town). The Yorkville Highlands AVA is one of California's most recently established appellations, its higher elevation (1,500-2,600 feet) and cool maritime-influenced temperatures creating conditions markedly different from the warmer Mendocino Valley floor. Yorkville Cellars produces Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Petit Verdot from Yorkville Highlands estate vineyard blocks with the high-elevation organic farming philosophy that the estate has practiced since its 1994 founding.
