About Alexander Valley Vineyards

Alexander Valley Vineyards sits on the historic site originally settled in the 1840s by Cyrus Alexander himself, the man who gave the valley its name. The Wetzel family has farmed this land since 1962, four generations continuing the tradition that Cyrus described as 'the brightest and best spot in the world.'

The estate covers 720 acres in the heart of Alexander Valley with over 350 acres planted to vines. Underground, a 48,000 square foot barrel-aging cave, the largest in Sonoma County, winds beneath the estate, hosting weekly cave tours and tastings.

AVV is one of the most genuinely welcoming and accessible wineries in Sonoma County, walk-ins always welcome, tasting fees that refund with purchase, and a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere that honors the winery's working-farm heritage. Their Sin Zin Zinfandel has cult status among fans of big, spicy reds.

Alexander Valley Vineyards presents a featured lineup that includes Cyrus, Sin Zin, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, and Estate Chardonnay. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.

"Four generations of the Wetzel family farming the land where Alexander Valley began. Walk-ins welcome, 48,000 sq ft caves, iconic Zinfandels, and Cyru"
