About Andrew Murray Vineyards
Andrew Murray Vineyards is one of Santa Barbara County's most respected producers of Rhone-variety wines, with a focus on Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, Roussanne, and Mourvedre that has earned Andrew Murray a devoted following since he launched his label in 1990. Murray was among the first winemakers in the Santa Ynez Valley to champion Rhone varietals at a time when most of California was focused on Cabernet and Chardonnay, and his early commitment to these grapes helped establish the Central Coast as one of the premier Rhone-style wine regions in the New World.
The tasting room is located on Grand Avenue in the charming town of Los Olivos, surrounded by galleries, boutiques, and other tasting rooms that make the town a walkable wine country destination. Tastings feature estate-grown Syrah from some of the best vineyard sites in the Santa Ynez Valley and Happy Canyon, alongside white Rhone blends, rose, and red blends that showcase Murray's talent for balancing power with elegance. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and Andrew himself is often on hand to pour and discuss the wines with visitors. The winery sources from carefully selected vineyards across multiple Santa Barbara County appellations to capture the diversity of this exceptional growing region.
