About Arroyo Robles Winery
Arroyo Robles Winery is named for the oak creek — the arroyo lined with robles (valley oaks, the native California oak of the Central Coast) that flows seasonally through the El Pomar District property. The Spanish place name is both topographic fact and cultural heritage: the Paso Robles region was named by Spanish missionaries for its native oak groves (paso de los robles, 'pass of the oaks'), and Arroyo Robles continues that oak-naming tradition for a specific creek on a specific piece of land.
The Union Road estate produces Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel from calcareous limestone El Pomar District estate vineyards with the walk-in accessibility and family-welcoming hospitality that the most approachable Paso Robles estates exemplify. The native oaks along the arroyo remain; the vines grow alongside them.
The daily walk-in experience is dog-friendly, picnic-equipped, and family-hospitable.
