About Artiste Winery & Tasting Studio
Artiste is where wine and art genuinely merge: winemaker Bion Rice has crafted site-specific blends here since 2002, each released as a limited edition wearing a one-of-a-kind label commissioned from a featured artist, with the blends themselves inspired by the artwork. Wines carry names like Rooted and Flower for Monet rather than varietal labels.
The tasting studio on Grand Avenue feels like stepping into a late-1800s atelier: original artwork covers the walls, guest paintings hang from the ceiling, a community canvas waits for visitors to add their own brushstrokes, and a pendant light made from old art-labeled bottles glows overhead. Four times a year, new releases debut at art-and-wine parties where members meet both the winemaker and the artist.
Tastings run Thursday through Monday, with cheese pairings curated by the resident sommelier and a deeper Grand Museum Tasting of five library wines in the Museum Room for those who want the full immersion. Walk-ins are welcome before mid-afternoon; groups of six or more need a reservation.
