About Bella Vista Winery

This is where Temecula wine started. Vince Cilurzo planted the valley's first commercial vineyard here in 1968, and the site traded for decades as Cilurzo Winery before Imre and Gizella Cziraki bought it and renamed it Bella Vista.

The estate keeps the Cilurzo name in circulation. Its hidden bar, The Cilurzo Speakeasy, is a Prohibition-styled room tucked away from the main tasting area, and it is the sort of thing visitors tend to find out about rather than plan for.

The grounds are among the older and more settled in the valley, with a pond and mature palms rather than new landscaping, and live music plays regularly.

Estate-grown Petite Sirah and the sparkling wines are the bottlings visitors most often single out. The winery has described itself as being under new ownership and mid-transformation, so specifics are worth confirming before a visit.
