About Black Birch Vineyard
Black Birch Vineyard grows grapes in the Connecticut River Valley near Hatfield, one of Massachusetts' most fertile agricultural regions. The vineyard benefits from the valley's favorable microclimate and rich alluvial soils, growing both cold-hardy hybrids and select vinifera varieties that perform well in this corridor. The wines are produced on-site with attention to expressing the particular character of the Pioneer Valley terroir, and the tasting room overlooks the vineyard and the surrounding farmland. Black Birch is part of the growing cluster of wineries in the Pioneer Valley and Connecticut River region that are demonstrating what serious winemaking looks like in western Massachusetts.
