About BobDog Wines & Sky Pine Vineyards

When Tim and Kandy Ward decided to escape the Silicon Valley rat race more than two decades ago, they searched country properties across California before settling on a mountaintop outside Cloverdale, establishing Sky Pine Vineyards in 1995. Yes, there really was a Bob Dog: the winery takes its name from a beloved real canine companion.

At 2,000 feet above the Alexander Valley, BobDog is the highest winery in Sonoma County and the only one located within the Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak AVA, farming all-mountain, all-Bordeaux estate grapes that other wineries have used to win national awards. Visits are personal, hands-on affairs: call ahead and the Wards will walk you through the vineyard and winery themselves.
