About Bohème Wines
Kurt Beitler is Napa wine royalty, grandson of Caymus founder Charlie Wagner and nephew of Chuck Wagner, but he built his own name on the cold, foggy far side of Sonoma. Sent by his uncle in 2000 to manage the Belle Glos Taylor Lane Vineyard in Occidental, Beitler fell for the true Sonoma Coast and founded Bohème in 2004, naming it for the Bohemian Highway winding through the redwoods.
Bohème farms its leased coastal vineyards, English Hill, Stuller, and 900-foot Taylor Ridge, among the closest vineyards to the Pacific in North America, entirely by hand, producing about 2,500 cases of bright, modestly-alcoholed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a deliberately Old World style. Tastings happen in a cozy storefront on Occidental's Main Street, often with the apple-cheeked Beitler himself pouring.
