About Bouchaine Vineyards
Bouchaine Vineyards holds a distinction that no other Carneros winery can claim: it is the oldest continuously operating winery in the Carneros District, with roots going back to the late 1880s when a settler from Missouri named Boon Fly first planted grapes on the Buchli Station Road property above San Pablo Bay. The land passed through Italian winemaker Johnny Garetto and then Beringer before Gerret and Tatiana Copeland became sole proprietors in 1981 and transformed it into the estate it is today.
The winemaking philosophy — wild yeast fermentation, minimal extraction, non-intervention production — reflects a genuine conviction that great Carneros wine is grown in the vineyard, not manufactured in the cellar. The 200+ estate acres encompass nearly 20 distinct microclimates thanks to the property's diverse topography and the cooling influence of San Pablo Bay, which drives afternoon winds across the vineyards on most days and fog on most evenings. That complexity shows directly in the wines: Bouchaine produces more than 20 varieties including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Terrace tasting — a five-wine selection with 270-degree vineyard views — is the signature experience for adults seeking the full Bouchaine picture. The Garden tasting welcomes families and dogs with a four-wine casual format, making Bouchaine one of the most genuinely family-friendly appointment wineries in the AVA.

Estate Pinot Noir
Carneros Estate
Bouchaine's estate Pinot from one of Carneros' oldest and most southerly planted vineyard sites — cool, Bay-influenced, with the mineral and red-fruit character that defines estate Carneros Pinot.
White Wine
Chardonnay
Carneros Estate
Estate Chardonnay showing the cool, marine-influenced restraint of southerly Carneros — mineral, citrus-driven, and food-friendly rather than rich and buttery.
Red Wine
Pinot Meunier
Carneros
One of California's most distinctive plantings of Pinot Meunier — the Champagne blending variety rarely bottled as a varietal. Earthy, spiced, and genuinely unusual.
