About Bonterra Organic Estates

Bonterra is America's leading organic winery and the largest regeneratively farmed producer in the country, rooted in Mendocino County's Hopland since it began farming organically in the 1980s. Grown out of the pioneering Fetzer family operation, it was among the first in the nation to commit to organic and biodynamic farming, and remains a Certified B Corporation built around leaving the land better than it found it.

A visit is as much about the farm as the wine. The estate is a living, biodiverse landscape where sheep, chickens, and other animals roam the vines and gardens of lavender, olives, and vegetables grow alongside the grapes. Taste the organically farmed range, from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc to Cabernet and single-vineyard biodynamic bottlings, and spend an easy afternoon on a working farm that helped define organic wine in California.

The McNab RanchThe McNab Ranch property, 1,400 organically farmed estate acres across the Ukiah, Redwood Valley, and Hopland growing corridors in Mendocino County, represents the most ambitious single organic vineyard estate commitment available from any large-volume California wine producer.
Bonterra's founding organicBonterra's founding organic conviction, established in 1987 when Fetzer Vineyards committed to organic farming practices on the McNab Ranch property years before the California wine industry's broader organic movement, made Bonterra the most nationally recognized pioneer of the conviction that large-volume California wine production could be both commercially viable and comprehensively organically certified.
