About Bottle Jack Winery
The Bottle Jack winery sits on La Madrona Drive about three miles north of downtown Santa Cruz, just off Highway 17, on a hilltop with views over the city and out to Monterey Bay. This is where the wine is made; the family also runs a separate tasting room on the westside.
It is a small, family-run operation working with single varietals and blends from local family-farmed vineyards. The house tagline, sharing wine with family, friends, laughter and love, is a fair summary of the atmosphere, and the range is broad enough to suit most palates rather than chasing one style.
Flights are twenty dollars and waived if you buy a bottle, with four complimentary tastings included per wine club membership.
Two practical things worth knowing before setting out. Wine service stops ten minutes before closing, and the winery does not open every weekend, so the schedule is worth checking rather than assuming.
