About Burning Tree Cellars
Burning Tree Cellars was an Arizona winery co-founded in 2009 by Corey Turnbull and Mitch Levy, who met that year and launched the label together. In 2012 they opened a tasting room in Old Town Cottonwood, in the Verde Valley north of Phoenix, and ran it there for more than eleven years.
The room sat at 1040 N Main Street and poured small batch wines, with indoor seating and an outdoor patio, a wine club and regular music and events. It became a fixture of the Old Town Cottonwood tasting room strip, which is one of the easiest places in Arizona to walk between several wineries in an afternoon.
Burning Tree Cellars no longer exists. After Mitch Levy died, the decision was made in 2021 to wind the label down, and the Cottonwood location closed its doors in 2023. Turnbull went on to open Rubrix Wines, a separate business, in the same area. Confirm current details with Rubrix or with a Verde Valley visitor source before planning a trip.
