Cache River Basin Vineyard sits in the far-southern Illinois wetlands country near Belknap, pairing estate wines with the on-site Wineaux Restaurant and cabin lodging. The location beside the cypress-lined Cache River makes it a base for one of the Midwest's most unusual landscapes.
Guests combine paddling ancient cypress sloughs with evening flights and dinner, a pairing found nowhere else in Illinois. It is the southeastern anchor of the Shawnee Hills wine country.
