Camins 2 Dreams

Camins 2 Dreams is the shared dream of winemakers Tara Gomez and Mireia Taribo, wife and wife, who met working at J. Lohr in 2006, made wine together at Castell d'Encus in the Catalan Pyrenees, and founded their own Lompoc label in 2017 with a first vintage of just 25 cases. Gomez, a member of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians and among the first Native American women winemakers in the country, was named a VinePair Winemaker of the Year in 2021; Taribo brings Catalan training and a chemistry degree from the University of Barcelona. Camins means paths in Catalan.

The wines are natural in the truest sense: native-yeast ferments, minimal SO2 only at bottling, unfined and unfiltered, from organic, biodynamic and regenerative vineyards concentrated in the Sta. Rita Hills with forays to San Benito County. Syrah and Gruner Veltliner lead an adventurous lineup that has included Gamay, Carignan and Albarino.

Their Lompoc tasting room, celebrated with a Chamber ribbon-cutting in 2023, is open Friday through Sunday for walk-ins and by appointment on other days, an unpretentious space where one of the county's most inspiring winemaking stories gets poured by the people living it.
