About Chatom Vineyards
Chatom Vineyards is a grape-growing estate in the Esmeralda Valley of Calaveras County, planted by owner Gay Callan starting in 1981 and now farming 13 varietals across 65 acres. For decades the estate has supplied fruit to the county's wine trade, and it operates today as a grower with grape sales rather than a public tasting room. The historic Chatom winemaking label is now continued by the Hatcher brothers under the Hatcher and School Street names; their tasting room is a separate destination in downtown Murphys (see Hatcher Winery).
