About Cline Family Cellars

Cline Family Cellars is one of Sonoma's most genuinely unpretentious and rewarding winery experiences. Founded in 1991 by Fred Cline, who grew up in Contra Costa County farming some of the oldest Zinfandel and Carignane vines in California, the winery produces honest, food-friendly wines at prices that invite buying rather than just tasting.

The 350-acre Carneros estate is anchored by a beautifully restored 1850s farmhouse and includes the California Missions Museum, housing twenty hand-crafted miniature replicas of all 21 California Missions, which makes the property one of the most family-friendly stops in Sonoma wine country.

Cline's old-vine Zinfandel program draws from some of the most ancient vines in California, including pre-Prohibition plantings from the Contra Costa County vineyards the family has farmed for generations. The Rhône varietal program (Marsanne, Viognier, Mourvèdre, Syrah) reflects Fred Cline's love of the Southern Rhône Valley.

Cline Family Cellars presents a featured lineup that includes Ancient Vines Zinfandel, Cool Climate Pinot Noir, Cashmere Red Blend, and Viognier. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.
