About Cória Estates

Cória Estates is a Mexican-American family operation in the rolling hills of south Salem, and the family has been growing grapes on this ground for around twenty-five years, well before there was a label on any of it. Much of that fruit went into other people's wines for a long time.

The winery came later. The first estate-grown Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir were harvested in late 2013 and the first wines released in June 2014. An original tasting room opened on Valentine's Day 2015, and the current one followed in July 2017, sitting on a hilltop with a full circle of views across the valley and the mountain ranges beyond.

Luis and Janice Cória own it and Aurora Cória makes the wine, which the family describes as a mother and daughter working alongside the father who grows the fruit. Pinot Noir is the centre of the range, made as single-clone bottlings, estate blends and reserve selections, with Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and rose alongside.

The hospitality is where the identity shows. There is hand-crafted stone architecture, an arched patio and palms, and a kitchen putting out Mexican-inspired small plates described simply as de la cocina. The events calendar runs to Taco Tuesdays and a 5k around the estate.

Twenty-five years growing fruit for other people's wines, then a hilltop estate of their own.
