About Coronado Vineyards
Coronado Vineyards sat at 2909 E Country Club Drive in Willcox, Arizona, in Cochise County at more than four thousand feet between Mount Graham and the Dos Cabezas mountains. Willcox Wine Country dates it to November 2006, and the name came from a distinctive pine left over from a former golf course on the site. Doajo Hicks, a former police officer and attorney, and his wife Roxanne bought the property in 2020 and folded its wines into a wider Phoenix hospitality business.
The winery made sweet table wines and blends along with varietal Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling, and the property carried a tasting room and tapas lounge, a gift shop and a vineyard space called El Pinito used for group gatherings. It was one of the anchor stops on the Willcox wine trail, the densest concentration of vineyard acreage in Arizona.
It is closed. The business filed for Chapter 12 bankruptcy in March 2025, shut for the summer on June 11 and let its liquor license lapse on June 30. On the morning of July 6, 2025 a fire started in the warehouse, and the Willcox fire chief called the building housing the tasting room and shop a total loss; investigators pointed to an electrical cause. No reopening has been announced. Confirm current details before planning any trip to Country Club Drive.
This winery is listed here for reference. It is closed, so there is no tasting room to visit.
