Coup de Foudre, French for “the moment lightning strikes,” or an unforgettable, love-at-first-sight occurrence, is a small Napa Valley producer owned and made by winemaker Kent Jarman, based at 1130 Main St. in downtown Napa. The label focuses on a tightly edited range of Bordeaux-style reds and a Sauvignon Blanc sourced from Napa Valley vineyard sites.
Recent vintages have drawn strong critical attention: the 2023 “Lightning Bolt” Cabernet Sauvignon earned 97 points from Wine Palate and 96 from James Suckling, while the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon scored 96 points from Wine Palate and 94 from Robert Parker's team.
