About Croix Estate
Croix Estate is a single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir specialist founded by Jason Williams and Kirk Venge, the latter a well-known Napa winemaker of Venge Vineyards. The idea was hatched in 2010 after an abalone dive at Sea Ranch, where the two tasted through fourteen of the world's great Pinots and decided they could make something to stand beside them. They launched in 2012 with just two wines, fifty cases each, and bootstrapped from there into a serious Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast label with a devoted allocation list.
The focus is narrow and deliberate: terroir-driven, single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from benchmark sites across the Russian River Valley, Fort Ross-Seaview and the Petaluma Gap, alongside a few Zinfandels, a Rhone-style blend and a Sauvignon Blanc. The winemaking is minimal-intervention and unapologetically high-risk, aimed at wines built to age for fifteen years or more.
Visits are intimate and by reservation. Tastings take place in a homey barn where a host walks a small group through the single-vineyard lineup with real, personal attention, the kind of place where you leave knowing the wines, and often the story behind each vineyard.
