About Deep Sea Tasting Room
Deep Sea may be the only tasting room in Santa Barbara County where you sip above the actual sea: it sits on historic Stearns Wharf, with an open deck delivering 360-degree views of the Pacific, the Channel Islands, the harbor and the Riviera hills. It is the home of Conway Family Wines, family owned and operated here since 2011, with the winery itself at the historic Rancho Arroyo Grande estate up the coast.
The Deep Sea label is a love letter to maritime winegrowing: fruit from vineyards close to the Pacific, where fog and ocean breezes ripen grapes slowly at brighter acidity and lower sugars, while the CONWAY label reserves the family's best barrels and lots. Flights, wines by the glass and bottles all pour daily, with a signature flight and an all-red option.
No reservations are taken, tables are first-come, and both dogs and kids are welcome, making it an easy add to a wharf stroll; groups of ten or more should call ahead or arrive early for deck seating. A second Deep Sea tasting room pours in Ventura Harbor Village.
