About Doce Robles Winery
Doce Robles Winery is named for the twelve valley oaks — doce robles in Spanish — that stand on the El Pomar District property, survivors of the native oak woodland that covered this corner of the Central Coast before agricultural development. The twelve oaks are both landmark and declaration: this estate knows its natural heritage and has chosen to name itself for what grew here before the vines.
Established in 1994, Doce Robles is among the El Pomar District's longer-established family estates, with vine age and soil knowledge that reflect nearly three decades of continuous farming. The Sixteen Road property produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, and Tempranillo (the Spanish variety that connects to the estate's Spanish naming tradition) from calcareous limestone estate vineyards.
The twelve oaks are still there. The wines grow in their shade.
