About Domaine Lumineux
Francis Ford Coppola founded this in 2019 as Domaine de Broglie, pronounced Broy, and renamed it Domaine Lumineux ahead of the tasting room opening. The wines come exclusively from a 42-acre LIVE certified estate vineyard in the Dundee Hills, so despite the downtown address everything in the glass is single-estate fruit.
Getting to a permanent home took a while. During the transition the winery poured out of Elizabeth Chambers Cellars in the Old Power House at McMinnville, then lost that space when the building changed hands and became an events venue. The search ended at an 1890s Victorian on the corner of North Washington Street in Newberg, previously a restaurant, which opened as the tasting room in early 2024.
Dave Petterson is general manager and winemaker. The range is Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, rose and sparkling, poured as flights, by the glass or by the bottle.
The room leans into its owner's other career without being silly about it. There is a vinyl collection guests pick from, and the space converts for Coppola movie nights. Being in the middle of Newberg rather than up a vineyard road means you can walk to dinner afterwards.
