About Ferrari-Carano Chalk Hill
Don Carano, a Reno attorney and casino owner, and his wife Rhonda founded Ferrari-Carano in 1981 in Dry Creek Valley, building it into one of Sonoma County's grandest estates, crowned by the Villa Fiore hospitality center and its famous five acres of gardens. The winery made its name on Fumé Blanc and Chardonnay before expanding across Sonoma appellations with mountain Cabernet and Alexander Valley reds.
Catalog note: this listing refers to Ferrari-Carano's Chalk Hill-area vineyard holdings; it duplicates our main Ferrari-Carano entry, where visits and tastings are handled at the Dry Creek Valley estate. Ferrari-Carano was acquired by Foley Family Wines in 2020, which continues to operate the Dry Creek Valley estate, its tulip-famous spring gardens, and the broad portfolio the Caranos built across four decades.
