About Flambeaux Wine
Flambeaux Wine is named for the flambeaux — burning torches carried through the streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras processions to illuminate the parade route. Chris and Katie Jackson (daughter of Jess Jackson of Kendall-Jackson) chose this New Orleans-cultural reference as a declaration that wine, like the flambeau, illuminates and enlivens.
The Dry Creek Road estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Grenache, and Marsanne from Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley vineyard sources with the Jackson family's characteristic attention to vineyard quality. The torch-naming suggests the estate's hospitality philosophy: Flambeaux illuminates the visitor's experience of Dry Creek Valley wine country.
Wine Advocate has scored Flambeaux's Dry Creek Valley wines at 90–93 points, and the daily walk-in format on Dry Creek Road makes it one of the valley's more accessible estates.
