About Fore Family Wines
Fore Family Vineyards is a small, family-run producer based on Cobb Mountain in Lake County, not in Napa Valley. Jim Fore left an engineering career at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in 1994, partnered with Doug Hill in 1995 to learn viticulture (the Fore Hill partnership), then planted his own Cobb Mountain vineyard in 2000, releasing a first vintage in 2005.
The family, Jim, his wife Diane, and son Eric, opened a public Wine Room in downtown Kelseyville in February 2016 and produce roughly 1,000 cases a year from about 17 estate acres, with some additional fruit sourced from Napa and Carneros for select bottlings. There is no Napa Valley tasting room or estate; this listing's region should be corrected to Lake County.
